April Update

We truly aren't sure where time goes. Someone asked me what I do with myself and I truly said, "I am not sure. We eat breakfast and before I know it, it is time for bed."

Chad: When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, the comment is almost always "fire engine." "Do you mean fireman?" "Yeah, fireman." He loves playing outside, reading books, and playing with his toys. He is a wonderful big brother and anxiously awaits this little baby. He is very intrigued with how Mommy is getting "bigger". Kaylee and Chad have now taken up wrestling. The rule is that he has to stop when she starts to squeal or say "no". It amazes us how much she giggled through.

Kaylee: Talk, talk, talk. The teachers at church commented last week "she talks so much." We are blown away with the words that she says. Ducky continues to be her favorite pal. She will get her brother into her room and try to get him to get ducky out of her crib. I either hear Kaylee get really excited or I hear "Kaylee, you can't have ducky now. Ducky is sleeping. You only get ducky when you sleep."

Activities: The kids have so enjoyed the four wheeler. Kaylee has even learned how to drive it. She just has to learn how to turn the wheel! Chad has been amazing about sharing with her. While Grams and Gramps were here last weekend, we got the pool cleaned and the garden planted. We are praying for a bountiful crop as the pantry is low from last years failing garden.

Baby: We have about 7 1/2 weeks until my due date. We know that the time will fly by.

Night, Night Update

The kids did really well going to sleep in the beds. I was very proud of them. It wasn't until 3:00 in the morning that things went a little south. Chad talks in his sleep. Kaylee thought it was an invitation to a conversation each time. This went on for about an hour. Finally Chad woke up to the conversation and they started a real one. It went something like this:

Chad: No one is watching us.
Kaylee: Uh, huh.
Chad: Someone needs to be watching us.
Kaylee: Oh.
Chad: We need something to watch us.

I watched and listened to all of this conversation. They were both sitting straight up looking forward.

I decided to lay down with Kaylee to see if that would help. After about 4 minutes, I got poked in the eye and heard "eye". Then I got the giggles and it was over. So, I took Kaylee with me and Chad returned to sleep.

Night-Night

If you saw the pictures above, you see that Kaylee and Chad are in the same room - in the bunk beds. You may be wondering what is going on??? Well, no the baby is not here yet (9 more weeks). But Grams and Gramps are visiting and we decided to try the bunk beds out. Stay tuned to find out how the night went!!!

Kaylee - 18 Months

Yesterday we had Kaylee's 18 Month well-baby checkup.

Weight - 24 lbs 14 oz - 50th percentile
Length - 33 1/2" - 90th percentile

The pediatrician wanted to know how many words that she said. I told her that consistently Kaylee says about 20 words but she has 50-100 that she uses. She said that at 18 months they look for 15 words. With that many words, the pediatrician said that Kaylee will be that 2 year old that carries on a conversation. We can totally believe it.

We are very thankful for a healthy check up of our beautiful little girl.

Pretty Girl

One of my kids' favorite toys to play with are the free beads that we get at a local restaurant. Chad uses them with his loader and dump trucks. Kaylee wears them. She walked into our room looking like this today.

April 6th - Pictures and Video

Today, I had a piano recital for my students. They all did so well and I was very happy for each student. Since we were all dressed up, I asked one of the moms to take a picture of us. Trying to get 2 kids to look at the camera is close to impossible! I also took some pictures of Kaylee this evening.

Here is a link to a video. We were asked to take care of something for a family while they are on vacation. You won't believe what it is. Check out the video!!

Prayer of a 3 1/2 Year Old

Until recently, Chad has not wanted to pray out loud at meal time. It has been wonderful for that desire to return.

Although I don't know each exact words of his Tuesday lunch prayer, I want to try. We aren't sure where he got these thoughts because neither Mommy or Daddy specifically pray with him about worrying. So, we believe these are his own creation.

"Dear God, thank you for my family. Thank you for my Mommy, my Daddy, my sister. Thank you for the food. Thank you God for my heart. Please help us not to worry about anything in the whole world. Amen."
