Cole's Preschool Prayer

After preschool worship, the leader asked a preschooler to pray in closing.  I volunteered.  This was my prayer for all of the preschoolers:

Dear God, Thanks for my Mom and Dad.  I love You, God and I like You.  Amen.

Mid April

So much has happened since my last post.  And even though many tasks are calling my name, I am setting it all aside to write down some memories for our albums.

Cason:  On April 3rd, I finally decided that walking was a better mode of transportation.  I have been using it almost exclusively since.  After much babbling, I started using words this week.  "Please" and "drink" are very plain but my siblings think I say a lot more.  To the surprise of my parents, I took a few days off the I-don't-want-to-eat fight and ate everything on my plate without issue.  But it was short lived.  Hopefully it is because I am getting three molars in.  Yes, I have skipped several blank spots in my mouth and have gone straight to the molars.  Whenever I do take a bite without fuss I clap for myself because my family is happy!  Mommy and Daddy say that I am a lot of fun and quite ornery.  I have heard comments from their friends that I have an ornery look about me.  No denying it.

Cole:  Temptation has come back into my life.  Sometimes I just can't help myself.  Mommy says at least I know what I want.  I told Mommy yesterday that I am never going to jail.  Mommy made me pinky swear.  Not really.  But she thought about it.  I continue to spend much time saving people either as a fireman, knight, or super hero.  I am always very careful to let Mommy know before I run a safety patrol.  Allergies are affecting me and my family pretty hard.  Making for a large consumption of Kleenexes.  But super heros have no time to blow their noses!  Two weeks ago at church, I had such a great day that the teacher was going to call my mom during lunch just to give her the great report.  Unfortunately she realized they didn't have our phone number in the system.  But, she loved the good report when she picked me up.

April 11th Prayer - Dear God,
Thank you for my friend Noah. I like him. And for my friend, Mommy. She is nice. And for dress-up day. I want to be a super hero. And I want to save You, God, and the Lord, and Jesus. But I won't save Satan and Goliath because they are bad. I don't want to obey them. I want to obey You, Jesus, the Lord, and God. Amen. And for the food. Amen.

April 11th at Bedtime - Mommy, I love you so much. I even love you on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and then it starts all over again. I love you even then.

Kaylee:  On April 17th I registered for Kindergarten.  The teachers wondered if I had a brother at the school too.  Then they couldn't get over how much Cole and Chad look alike.  I did excellent on the pre-screening.  So well that I didn't have to go to the "training" day that they had to help parents and kids prepare for Kindergarten.

Cole and I play house a lot.  I am his mom and Mommy is his Grandma.  Mommy has trouble remembering to answer to "grandma" and not "mom." My babies have birthdays all of the time.  My job has meetings a lot.  Sometimes I have to miss work because my babies are sick.  Thankfully "Grandma" watches them sometimes for me.  At work I am a teacher to babies or a doctor.  But, oh, those meetings!

It has become my job to water the flowers outside.  Inside, I have several jobs and Mommy relies on me a lot.  Daddy does too.  When Mommy is not available and he needs a question answered, he will come to me.  I almost always know the answer.

Soccer is great fun.  I love running around on the field, kicking the ball, and cheering for my team.  I have gotten several great stickers from my coach for my encouraging attitude.

Chad:  1st grade is coming to an end.  I am super excited about summer but will really miss school.  If there is even a chance that I might miss a day, I am very emotional.  Today is my field trip to a local battle field.  Daddy comes and eats with me during lunch a few times a month.  I really enjoy this time with him.  Daddy enjoys seeing my friends in action.  Less than four weeks left and I will be a 2nd grader.  It will be different having Kaylee in school with me but I am pretty proud of it too.

Soccer is great fun and I have declared that I am the best defensive player.  It has been a great experience and I look forward to every practice and game.  4H is going well.  I continually look for service projects that I feel need to be done.  Though it isn't a favorite activity, I helped Mommy plant the garden and am helping with the upkeep.

Parents:  We eat, sleep, laugh, work, and play. Most of the time the five are not equally distributed.  We are looking forward to many hours this summer of swimming, biking, and making memories.

Soccer Family

It is official...I am a soccer mom.  We are now a soccer family.

Sigh.

But, it has been a great experience so far!

Last weeks was the kids' first games.  It was cold and rained.  We were all drenched.

Here are a few pictures was today.  Thankfully the weather was much better.

And the two cheerleaders:

Today's games were much better.
