The Garden is Started

We have been trying to get into the garden for a couple of weeks but the rain and cold has halted all work efforts.  The 25 mph wind dried the dirt allowing us to get started yesterday.  Since the garden is in a new spot this year, there is a lot of work to get the garden leveled. And because of where we have placed it, we have rocks, rocks, and more rocks that need to be picked up.

When we first tilled the garden over a month ago, we picked up two tractor buckets full of rocks.  Today we filled a wagon with the annoyances.  And there are many, many more wagon fulls to go!

Actually Cason filled much of the wagon.  Rock after rock this toddler picked up and put in the wagon or his little white bucket.  Many of the rock finds were announced with, "I found rock, Mommy."  He worked almost the entire three hours that we were at the garden.

Kaylee was our gopher getting us water, gloves, and other necessary items.  Chad and Cole helped turn over and level the dirt.  We didn't get nearly everything planted but at least the broccoli and cabbage plants are in!
